Imagine being forced to uproot everything and move to a completely new country, simply because of a conflict or situation you never asked for. More than 82 million refugees across the globe have experienced this crisis. Since 2016, NNIC has resettled more than 400 refugees in northern Nevada who lost everything they knew to be true in their former lives.
NNIC will host a celebration in honor of World Refugee Day (officially June 20, 2022) at Miguel Ribera Park on Saturday, June 18 from 12-4pm.
Enjoy delicious local food, activities and music to honor the culture of our recently relocated refugee neighbors while also introducing them (and us!) to the wonderful people of northern Nevada.
