World No. 1 Iga Świątek extended her winning streak to 34 matches after defeating No.20 seed Daria Kasatkina on Thursday at Roland Garros.
Poland’s Świątek, 21, won 6-2, 6-1 to reach her second French Open final. She is now tied with Serena Williams for the second-longest winning streak of this century. Williams won 34 consecutive matches between Miami and Wimbledon 2013.
On Saturday, Świątek will face either 18-year-old American Coco Gauff or Italy’s Martina Trevisan depending on the outcome of that semifinal match.
