BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Strap on your drinking caps, Bowling Green, because the entertainment district is live tomorrow!
At 3 p.m. in Fountain Square Park, the official ribbon cutting will take place to kick off the city’s newest venture aptly named Fountain Row.
The open container policy is the city’s latest approach to boost tourism and quality of life by bringing a new experience that other cities in the
state have constructed
Telia Butler, Bowling Green’s downtown development coordinator, said, “Bowling Green becomes more attractive to you because we have this extra layer for a cultural lifestyle. So it’s workforce development on one hand, its current economic and tourism development on the other hand and it just provides another amenity to the downtown experience, which is what we want.”
Michael Seymour said, “I think it’s exciting because a lot of other cities in the country are doing this and I really feel like its gonna be a lot of tourism or traffic to the downtown area, which will hopefully vitalize and keep businesses open here longer.”
Fountain Row hours will be from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
