A weathered photo from 1912 shows the entire student body of Galt Joint Union High School (with a couple of teachers) waiting their turn to participate in a parade. They’re assembled facing south in front of the Wriston House on the corner of Fourth and B streets. At the time, Galt High School was only a year old. It took a while for families to be convinced that high school could be an option for furthering an adolescent education. The Wriston House once occupied the vacant lot across from Brewsters on B Street.
