DULUTH — A fire is burning at a Central Hillside medical equipment business.
The Duluth Fire Department is at Lake Superior Medical Equipment, 522 E. 4th St., where a fire has engulfed one of the business’ vans and a stairway on the back side of the building. It has also spread to the back of the building. Firefighters are on the roof of the building and firefighters on the ground are spraying water on the back of the building.

Dan Williamson / Duluth News Tribune
News Tribune reporters on the scene can hear explosions coming from inside the building.
The business provides oxygen concentrators, among other products.
A rally of approximately 500 striking Essentia nurses and their supporters was gathered in the parking lot behind the business and down the alley — near the Ronald McDonald House — when smoke came over the crowd.
Much of the rally has since moved to St. Luke’s, as scheduled.
This is a developing story; check back for updates.
