BUDAPEST, Hungary – Texas Women’s Swimming’s Anna Elendt placed fifth in the 50-meter breaststroke at the FINA World Championships on Saturday at the Danube Arena. Elendt won silver in the 100-meter breaststroke and helped Germany to an eighth-place finish in the mixed medley relay earlier in the week.
Elendt took fifth in the 50m breast with a time of 30.22. Ruta Meilutyte of Lithuania won gold with a time of 29.70. Benedetta Pilato of Italy placed second in 29.80 and Lara Van Niekerk finished third in 30.21.
A native of Dreieich, Germany, Elendt won silver on Monday in the 100m breaststroke with a time of 1:05.98 and then helped Germany to an eighth-place finish in the 4x100m mixed medley on Tuesday with a time of 3:46.64, swimming the breaststroke leg in 1:05.83.
